At 12:42 a.m., police responded to Grove Street and Newark Avenue and discovered a man with a wound to his lower back, Kimberly Wallace Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he was treated and released, Wallace-Scalfione said.
The investigation is ongoing, Wallace-Scalfione said.
